5 Ways To Improve Kerbside Appeal

Selling a property to a prospective applicant isn't just about tidying up the dirty washing and hoovering the carpets, it's about making them love the property as much as you did when you bought it. Looking at how to improve your kerbside appeal could be what makes someone fall in love at first sight with your home.

Our 5 Top Tips!

  1. Fix the snags! This could be a loose roof tile or a leaky gutter, it might not be causing a problem but it will be something a viewer would spot as soon as they walk up the driveway.

  2. Refresh the paintwork. Peeling paint is unsightly and untidy, and is one more thing a buyer would be adding to their to-do list in their new home. Save them the trouble and show them how good it could look.

  3. Spruce up your garden. Brush up the leaves, trim the hedges you neglected over the winter months, and pull out those troublesome weeds!

  4. Tidy up the bins. Overflowing rubbish can stink up a viewing, make sure they're tucked away nicely and perhaps show a good storage place where they are out of the way.

  5. Show the potential. The slightest attention to detail could be what pushes an offer onto the table. This could be some flowerbeds with new stalks growing, or pulling the barbeque out of the garage to set up on the patio. Make use of the ways you've made it feel like home, and show the applicant what they could do too!

The most common queries agents get after a viewing are the small snags that applicants have spotted. Tidying up the little things and touching up the paint not only shows the potential of the property, but also improves the kerbside appeal.

Fixing that broken fence could be the difference between someone considering an offer, and someone actually making one.
